I always counsel my friends not to allow someone else to have enough power over them to make them upset. I know I shouldn't let her make me mad. Yet here I am doing it. Enough that if I were at home, I'd be crying right now. I HATE when anyone can make me cry.
In response to issues that have come up across campus about web services, our department sent out a survey that I wrote to deans and unit heads. The responses from the dean of the nursing school are what have set me off. I know I shouldn't take them personally, but when you have a job like mine that is creative, it's hard not to.
Here are the questions and responses:
1. What do you consider your most significant web-related challenge?
a. Lack of institutional support and resources. We needed a new web site for over 3 years and our need was not met in our institution. We worked with the resources in web services but our needs continued to be moved to the bottom (or to the lower) position of priority. After a year and a half of working with these individuals, we contracted with a vendor to do our work.
